75cl bottle £27.50
Lean at this stage but pure and precise. Fine texture quince, with a hint of citrus. Acidity slightly down this year. Very little oak influence on the flavour but adds texture. Will need a bit of time to add weight and body but has potential. 92/100.
Grapes from six different Swartland Chenin blanc vineyards are used (only dry land farmed bush vines). The ages of the vineyards vary from 35 to 49 years. The grapes are whole bunch pressed and cold settling is allowed for the juice before racking into barrel for spontaneous fermentation. The wines age from vintage to vintage in old 300 L French barrels.
